George Strait is an American country music singer, songwriter, actor, and music producer. George Strait was born on May 18, 1952 in Poteet, Texas. He is the son of John Byron Strait, Sr., a high school mathematics teacher, and Doris Jean Couser, a homemaker. 

Strait began his musical career singing in a country and western band called Ace in the Hole while he was still in college. After graduation, he joined the United States Army and served for two years. When he returned home, he formed the George Strait Band and began playing clubs and bars around Texas.

In 1981, George Strait released his debut album entitled “Strait Country”. The album went platinum and produced his first number one hit single “Unwound”. Since then, he has released over 30 albums including “Pure Country” (1992) and “Troubadour” (2008). 

He has sold over 100 million records worldwide making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. In 2013, George Strait was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton is an American country music singer and television personality. In 2001, he made his debut with the single “Austin”. The lead-off single from his self-titled debut album, “Austin” spent five weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) chart. 

It was the longest-charting single of 2001 and set a record for the most consecutive weeks at number one by a male artist. Shelton’s second album, The Dreamer, was released in 2003. The album’s title track reached number one on the country charts and was followed by two more number one singles, “The Baby” and “Some Beach”.

Shelton’s fourth album, Startin’ Fires, was released in 2008; its title track reached number one on both the country airplay and country music charts, making Shelton the first artist to achieve this feat since Brooks & Dunn did so in 1998 with their song “Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You”.

Shelton has also released several successful singles as a duet partner. He has been married to fellow country singer Miranda Lambert since 2011.

Florida Georgia Line

Florida Georgia Line is an American country music duo consisting of lead vocalist Tyler Hubbard and lead guitarist Brian Kelley. Their 2012 debut single “Cruise” broke two major records: it was downloaded over seven million times, making it the first country song to ever receive that distinction, and it spent a record-breaking 24 weeks on the Hot Country Songs chart. 

In 2013, they became the first artist in the history of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart to have their first three singles reach number one.

The duo’s fourth EP, It’z Just What We Do, was released in May 2012 and produced three more number-one singles on the Country Airplay chart with its title track, “Get Your Shine On”, and “Round Here”.

They have also won three Grammy Awards and eight Country Music Association Awards.
